Newcastle-Gateshead Half Marathon 2026

We’re excited to be taking part in the Newcastle–Gateshead Half Marathon, an iconic event set on a fully road-closed course that takes in some of the most famous sights on both sides of the Tyne.

The route takes runners past the Gateshead Millennium Bridge, The Glasshouse International Centre for Music, BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art, the Tyne Bridge, and the Swing Bridge, finishing inside the iconic Gateshead International Stadium.

Gateshead International Stadium is the third largest sporting venue in Tyne and Wear and the only IAAF-standard athletics stadium in the North East. It has hosted the IAAF Diamond and Golden League Athletics and the European Cup — and it’s where world champions and Olympians have crossed the finish line, with five world records set on its track.

This is more than just a race — it’s a chance to run with purpose. By joining Team Headlight, you’ll be helping to support people across the North East affected by suicide and trauma. Every step you take helps fund life-changing services for individuals and families in need.
