1-2-1 Counselling

1 2 1 counselling can help when you are experiencing difficult times in your life and feel the need for a little extra help and support.

The Headlight Project has particular focus and expertise in supporting families and individuals through traumatic bereavement including suicide.

Together we will work in a warm, trusting and supportive environment to build a helping and caring relationship which involves us developing a connection,  and helping you deal with the trauma. We also provide specific therapies such as Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), which is a highly affective treatment for trauma together with other therapies such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Interpersonal Therapy (IPT) and Clinical Hypnotherapy.

The counsellors at the Headlight Project will fully support you and together we can explore what is happening for you at the moment, find a way to move forward and help you live a happier life, where you feel empowered to manage life’s ‘ups and downs’.

Workshops for adults

  • Managing anxiety and depression – This workshop raises awareness of the signs, symptoms and effects of anxiety & depression and develops strategies to cope.
  • Stressbusting – This workshop will enable the individuals to explore the concept of ‘stress’, raise awareness of the effects of stress, share personal experiences and identify stress busting activities to help manage stress in their daily life.
  • Relaxation – This workshop encourages the individuals to explore and learn the different ways to relax.
  • Building self-esteem and confidence – This workshop enables individuals to explore what confidence and self-esteem are. Furthermore, it will encourage the individual to develop basic tools to work towards improving their self-esteem and confidence.
  • Assertiveness – This workshop provides the individual with the opportunity to develop an understanding of the concept of assertiveness, learn more about communication and how to manage emotions.
  • Who am I? –  This workshop is for individuals who have completed all the other workshops. The focus of the workshop is on the individual to explore ‘who am I?’ and explore who they are and search for a core sense of themselves. The emphasis is not on what is buried beneath, however, on facilitating the emergence of what the individual would like to experience.
